OVERVIEW

For this assignment, I was tasked with creating a responsive landing page for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. The goal of the page was to promote the new album "Fully Known" by The Grand Collective.

The album cover provided served as the primary inspiration for the website's branding.

WIREFRAMES

The wireframes for this project served as the foundation for the final design. They allowed me to establish a clear structure and flow before adding stylistic elements. Each wireframe was planned to balance functionality and visual hierarchy, ensuring that key information, such as album details and concert information, was easily accessible. The wireframes also helped me strategically allocate space for high-impact visuals, like the hero image and supporting elements, without overwhelming the layout.

RATIONALE

The brand colors and elements of my landing page align with the album cover to ensure a cohesive visual identity. I used the hero image as a background to add depth and incorporated the sheep as accents at key breaking points. For typography, I selected the sans-serif font Avenir for its legibility and versatile weight options, which helped establish a clear visual hierarchy.

To maintain cohesion, I converted all photos to black and white, as their original colors felt overly dominant. I also added noise to the images to match the album cover's textured, grainy aesthetic. Each section balances visual appeal with informative value, targeting college students while fulfilling assignment requirements.

For the tablet design, I retained much of the desktop layout, narrowing it slightly for better responsiveness. For the phone format, I made significant changes to accommodate its vertical orientation, creating a seamless scrolling experience.
